Kid: Is Louisiana a state or a city? (giggle, giggle)
Me: (blank stare)
Kid: Is Louisiana a state or a city?
Me: (motioning for the young lady in the 8th grade to approach her desk trying to determine if she is being serious or just trying to be funny)
Kid: Is Louisiana a state or a city?
Me: See those puzzles right there? Pull the one in the middle out.
Kid: (Pulls out puzzle of the U.S. Scans for approximately .15 second.) Louisiana isn't on here....
Me: Yes it is.
Kid: Oh. (pointing) It's a state! So I can ask what part of Louisiana someone lives in and it makes sense.
Me: Yes.
Kid: Miss, look over here
Me: Hang on, I'm helping Zachary...(time passes)
Kid: Miss, can you at least glance over here?
One of my favorite bands is a Tennessee group called Lucero. A girl just came in and wanted to sign-up for a computer. She said her name was Lucero then started to spell it. I then held up the CD cover and said "Like this?" She smiled and said "Yup."
